ORLANDO, FL. -- Pop Warner and Team Cheer, provider of cheer and performance products and official cheer sponsor of Pop Warner, today announced a joint donation of $16,367 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.
The donation was presented on Monday, December 9 at the 26th annual Pop Warner Cheer and Dance National Championships held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World.
The donation was raised by Pop Warner athletes across the country, largely through the inaugural Pop Warner Pink Games, sponsored by Team Cheer, which took place nationwide Oct. 5–6.
Team Cheer created custom Pop Warner Pink Packs of apparel and accessories for both football players and cheerleaders to wear throughout the season, with a portion of sales donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. More than 500 Pop Warner members purchased Pink Packs.
"We are proud of our athletes nationwide who came together to raise awareness and funding for breast cancer research within their communities and grateful to Team Cheer for their support," said Mary FitzGerald, COO of Pop Warner.
"The inaugural Pop Warner Pink Games provided an engaging and meaningful platform for our members to raise money for such an important cause."
